AHAS provides the following services to FAS Arts and Humanities Faculty members, TA’s and TF’s. Please click on a header to view more information.

##  Photocopying, Printing, Scanning 

The AHAS copy center provides free photocopying services (black and white only) for course-related or departmental materials, as well as back-up or overflow copying when department photocopiers are out of order or at capacity use.

AHAS follows all Harvard and Federal copyright guidelines and laws when copying published materials. For more detailed questions regarding copyright laws, please contact the Harvard University [Office of the General Counsel](https://ogc.harvard.edu/) for assistance.

AHAS is able to provide the following print, copy, and scanning services:

- Print copies from docs or PDFs via e-mail, for teaching and development curriculum
- Copy and/or scan articles or books to PDF, within fair use copyright restrictions (Please see the [Copyright](http://ahas.fas.harvard.edu/copyright-laws) section of this website for more information)
- We can make copies using the following paper sizes: 8.5”x11”, 11”x14” (legal), 11”x17”

You can request photocopying services through AHAS via the following methods:

- Faculty may send materials to be printed directly to AHAS via email. AHAS is able to print documents of most file types including Word, Excel, and PDF formats. If you email documents to be printed after business hours, please allow at least 1 hour for production the following business morning. We encourage submitting materials as far in advance as possible in order to ensure timely order completion. Please submit e-mail requests to [ahas@fas.harvard.edu](mailto:///ahas@fas.harvard.edu).
- Drop off your bound or flat originals at our Barker or Bolyston satellite locations, or our main [AHAS copy center](/location "Location"). If the original copy is a book, please include the specified range(s) of pages with the other details of your request (see below for what to include).

Please specify the following information when placing your request:

- An exact deadline for when copies need to be ready (if via e-mail, state this in the subject line)
- Number of copies required
- Format Instructions: 1- or 2-sided printing, stapled or loose pages, 3-hole punching, booklet, paper size, etc.
- Location for pickup (1414 Massachusetts Avenue, 5th Floor, Barker, Boylston)
- If your order contains tests or other confidential items that need to be kept locked away
- Any additional or special requests

AHAS also provides shredding of confidential or sensitive business, class and department related materials.

Please reach out to AHAS at <ahas@fas.harvard.edu> to coordinate a shredding request. Please note, if you are from a small department, we also can coordinate pickup of large shredding requests as follows: For orders larger than 3 boxes, or orders containing hardcover-bound or plastic spiral-bound documents, please [contact](mailto:///ahas@fas.harvard.edu) us to coordinate [DataShredder](https://www.datashredder.net) pickup services. If you have any uncertainty as to whether your documents can be processed in our office or if they necessitate DataShredder services, please contact us in order to discuss the details of your shredding needs.

If boxed, documents to be destroyed should be clearly labeled. Please note that documents to be shredded cannot be left in a drop box nor picked up without a faculty or staff member present for confirmation.



 

 

 



###    Event Support  expand\_more  

AHAS offers Events Support, which entails the following:

1. Structured information made centrally available through the [AHAS Administrator Events Planning Guide](https://ahas.fas.harvard.edu/sites/g/files/omnuum786/files/2025-04/AHAS%20Event%20Planning%20Handbook%204-17-25.pdf) that details sets of information commonly sought out by new and experienced events planning staff, such as:
    - Lodging options
    - Food services – restaurants, catering, bartending
    - Payments to, e.g., speakers, performers incl. contractual considerations
    - Publicizing and advertising
    - Room/space options on- and off-campus incl. accessibility considerations
2. Staff support for events of any size. Depending on the details of your event, we encourage advance notice in order to help your event run as smoothly as possible, but can assist on shorter notice:
    - Small (e.g. receptions, one-off guest lecturers): at least 72 hours notice
    - Medium (e.g. short conferences): at least 1 month notice
    - Large (e.g. long conferences): at least 1-2 months notice

##  Financial and Human Resource Applications 

The AHAS financial associate provides a wide range of financial assistance to client departments. These services include but are not limited to:

- Process employee reimbursements and [Citibank Corporate Card](https://oc.finance.harvard.edu/how-to/corporate-card) transactions ([CONCUR](https://travel.harvard.edu/concur))
- Process departmental invoice payments ([Buy2Pay](https://b2p.procurement.harvard.edu/eprocurement-ap))
- Process [non-employee](https://finance.harvard.edu/links/non-employee-reimbursement-form) reimbursements ([Buy2Pay](https://b2p.procurement.harvard.edu/eprocurement-ap))
- Approve PCard transactions
- Journal processing
- FAS Supplemental Pay Effort Commitment Tracking &amp; Request Application ([SPECTRA](http://finance.fas.harvard.edu/spectra))

###    New Visiting Faculty Canvas Support  expand\_more  

 

AHAS staff can provide general Canvas support to new Visiting Faculty within the Division of Arts &amp; Humanities, including uploading syllabi and other course materials. This helps ensure students can access the information they need when registering for classes.

AHAS provides website and web application services including but not limited to the following:

- Site change requests for HarvardSites Drupal and OpenScholar websites
- Debugging and maintenance of HarvardSites Drupal and OpenScholar websites
- Training in the use of HarvardSites Drupal and OpenScholar websites
- OpenScholar to HarvardSites Drupal site transition support
- Website audits (accessibility, information architecture, user experience/user interface)
- Technology consulting and point of contact with HUIT and other technology providers
